Season 24 Review / Bilan de la saison écoulée

Written by Matrix team at 11:45 20/6-2013

What a season once again ! Less titles and trophies than last season, but more victories in time trial, the most important for us.

Here are the turning points of the season :
-Day 4 (Rome TT) : first victory in TT of the season. What took us 89 days season 23, we did it in 4 days this season, so already a great satisfaction for everyone. 3 more victories in TT were to come.

-Day 44 (Vuelta de los Castillos) : Ryle came 2nd in GC, quite far behind an unbeatable Peter-Jan Van de Wal (CCFC). Nothing to be ashamed of, and a new reserved spot for Ryle. We'll try again during the incoming season.

-Day 51 (Essex Tour) : 4th victory in a row for Montelbano. Awesome. Incredible. Unbelievable. No words strong enough to describe it. More details here :
  http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=Press%20Release&team=Matrix%20team&article=7409

-Day 76 (Germany Tour) : The biggest fail of our season. Ryle not strong enough, the manager not as involved as he should have been, equipment problem. A lot of reasons, but the fact is that after a win, Ryle and all of us hoped for at least a top 9. He ended 14th. Probably his last Germany Tour. We'll target races more suited to him.

-Day 90 (WC) : After a huge disappointment in Germany, Ryle showed everyone what a champion can do : he won one of the biggest race in OCM, the World Championship, in front of all division 1 captain. Unexpected, but we all knew he could do it. Congratz Nicholas !

So overall another very good season, all the more since we also tried to make the team younger, and succeeded :

Eventually, to end this press release, let's have a look at last season review, for 24th season goals :
-To win a Tour : CHECk
-To finish Antonsen training (and maybe improve a little Yde and Napolitano) : MORE THAN CHECK with the trainings of Antonsen and Napolitano and also of Heckert completed
-To win more TT than last season : CHECK with 4 wins (5 with Essex Tour stage 2)
-To end in the top 10 once again : FAIL because of our choice to get ready for WC and WC ITT instead of defend our points. So 19th at the end of the season. Not that bad.

New goals for the incoming season :
-To win a Tour (yes, again)
-Train, train and train again, as always (Yde and Kang)
-Top 10 at the end of the season, depending on what other goals come to us.

  -----------------------------------------------------------------

Etonnant. Incroyable. Surréaliste. Les mots manquent pour qualifier cet exploit. Voulez-vous en savoir plus ?
  http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=Press%20Release&team=Matrix%20team&article=7409

  http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=Press%20Release&team=Matrix%20team&article=7485
